We have enjoyed working with, and partnering with, appraisers over the years and saw an opportunity where we could help appraisers with the aspects of their job they often dislike the most.
We have been involved in the appraisal business during slow times, when appraisers called around asking for work, needing work. Often, AMCs will not provide recommendations to lenders as most lenders have internal approved lists that are approved by a senior member or by their board. It takes the appraiser getting the ears of the right people at the bank or credit union to even be considered. That is tough.
We have also been involved in the appraisal business during slammed times, when appraisers would not answer phone calls and emails for updates on scheduling inspections and late reports. Appraisers said they were too busy to answer their phone, call clients back or reply to emails with updates. These appraisers hurt their score/ranking with the AMC or lender, reducing their future work when there is not enough to keep everyone busy, or even worse, were removed from the approved list due to poor communication.
The majority of our team is comprised of former AMC employees. We know the business. We know how to get appraisers approved with lenders. We have held a variety of roles at AMCs, including within vendor management, client management, operations and sales. We have former Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents. We know the appraisal business.
